Job Description

Intel is a leader in high performance computing for a diverse set of workloads from Cloud to Edge computing. As workloads continue to evolve to become more distributed, scalable and rely on hardware accelerators, performance analysis and engineering requires a multi-dimensional approach and we need a deep technical leader of a performance analysis team, helping customers ensure optimal performance of products, and guiding internal hardware and software teams on understanding the complex interactions of compute, memory, I/O and networking to design and optimize optimal system and software platforms that meet the demanding high performance, high bandwidth, and low latency throughput performance at scale.

The role requires understanding of critical performance analysis technologies required, familiarity with open-source tools, Intel performance analysis products, benchmarks, visualizations, and highly accurate and repeatable quantitative measurement methodologies. It also requires the ability to apply continuous system profiling to improve the performance of customer workloads on Intel platforms through software and hardware optimizations

Qualifications

Understanding the performance of real-world workloads running in cloud environments is one of the biggest gaps for Intel to bu ild the right hardware and software products to win business in the cloud. For example, Amazon has used their workload knowledge to build their Graviton processors and guide their software optimization work. This executive will lead Intel's strategy to close this gap by:

  • Advancing the state of the art for applying continuous profiling to improve Intel's understanding of cloud workloads and what parts of hardware and software matter to the performance of those workloads, working across all layers of the software and hardware stack including applications, runtimes, libraries, kernels, hypervisors, and bare metal.

  • Bringing deep strategic and technical expertise on workload profiling in real world environments, including building a for-profit cloud-based profiling service and using the service to scale the collection of customer workload data.

  • Driving improvements in Intel's hardware and software roadmap by applying the knowledge gaining through the cloud-based workload profiling work and service.
