In this position, you will be an intern in the IP, Design, and Platforms research team within Intel Labs. As an intern you will be researching and designing applied-electromagnetic components in reception and transmission of RF/mmW/THz signals on silicon, package, and/or PCB. You will perform electromagnetic-circuit modeling, simulation, and analysis to answer research questions, validating assumptions, and evaluating performance of the EM-circuit co-designs computationally and experimentally to enable new technologies and expand existing capabilities across a wide range of applied electromagnetic technologies on various application platforms.
The ideal candidate should exhibit the following behavioral traits:
Responsibilities may be quite diverse of a technical nature. U.S. experience and education requirements will vary significantly depending on the unique needs of the job. Job assignments are usually for the summer or for short periods during breaks from school.
This is an internship position and compensation will be given accordingly.
Qualifications
You must possess the below requirements to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your schoolwork and/or classes and/or research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences
Minimum Qualifications:
The Candidate must be pursuing a PhD degree in Electrical Engineering
6+ months experience in below areas:
Knowledge of electromagnetic theory, antenna arrays and feed/beamforming network, and RF/mmW/THz circuits
Hands-on experience on bench-level prototyping tools, troubleshooting EM-circuit modules, and performance evaluation equipment
Preferred Qualifications:
Course work and strong theoretical background in advanced, graduate-level electromagnetics, RF, antenna array, and RFIC are highly desired
Proven experience with full-wave electromagnetic simulation tools, such as Computer Simulation Technology (CST) and High Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS), as well as circuit simulations tools, such as Advanced Design System (ADS) and Cadence
Experience of co-optimizing physical EM-circuit designs on PCB, SiP, AiP, package, or silicon IC
Relevant industrial experience is a plus
