Lab Technician - SK

Job Description

This position is associated with the sale of Intel's NAND memory and storage?business to SK hynix (You can read more about the transaction in the press release - The transaction will enhance the resources and potential of the business' storage solutions, including client and enterprise SSDs, in the rapidly growing NAND Flash space amid the era of big data. This is an exciting time to be at Intel - come join our Engineering Services Team as a Lab Technician and work on the most advanced 3DNAND and SSD technology in the world. As the global leader in the semiconductor industry, Intel possesses industry-leading SSD technology and the most capable Triple Level Cell (TLC) and Quadruple Level Cell(QLC) NAND Flash products. As a Lab Technician, you will be part of a world-class team that will transition to lead the SSD business at SK hynix. This position aligns to Phase 2 of the transaction, which includes NAND technology and component development along with fab operations. Employees aligned to Phase 2 will continue to be employed by Intel and will continue to develop NAND technology and components and manufacture NAND wafers at the fab. Phase 2 of the transaction is expected to close in March 2025, at which time employees aligned to this phase of the transaction will transition employment to SK hynix.

Equipment Technicians perform electrical or mechanical troubleshooting to determine problems in nonfunctioning electromechanical equipment used in the manufacturing process. Dismantles, adjusts, repairs, and assembles equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, operating or repair manuals, rough sketches or drawings. May also perform setup, calibration, and preventative maintenance on production equipment. Assignments are semiroutine in nature. Work performed within generally defined parameters. Some degree of judgment required in resolving nonstandard problems. Normally receives general instructions on most work.

We are looking for a candidate that has diverse skills that can help in multiple areas of the Engineering Services team. Microprobe setup, environmental labe operations, and ESD work are all within the scope of this new role.


Candidate should possess an AS degree in electronics/electronics related field and or a relevant Technical Certification. Job requires 2 years+ of direct experience with semiconductor wafer and component testing and equipment maintenance, or a BS in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 2 years+ of direct industry experience in both aforementioned environments.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years+ of direct experience in setting up device and or circuit level experimental testing/tests. This would include wafer level electrical connections (probing) from design/engineering-given inputs.
  • The candidate will need to have 1 years+ experience in device characterization/data collection. This would include tester output and signal interpretation (results, and waveform capture and analysis).
  • Minimum of 1 year+ of experience involving the use of microprobing tools along with the use of specialized measurement equipment, such as modern Oscilloscopes, Parametric/Logic Analyzers and power sources will be required.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Have a demonstrated ability to work independently and as part a team, with engineers, technicians, suppliers, and contractors in support of the equipment sets assigned.
  • Proficiency with MS Office tools and some basic networking knowledge will be important.
  • The successful candidate will need strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have proven experience balancing multiple priorities/tasks effectively.
