Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Representing Intel in 3GPP standards with primary focus on CT1 (UE to Core Network protocols). Attendance to other 3GPP working groups is not excluded, depending on Intel's priorities.
Design and standardization of features in 3GPP Rel-17 and beyond, with focus on 5G End to End System Architectures, UE to Core Network interfaces, IP multimedia services, and other vertical industries related features.
Creating intellectual property, writing technical contributions, and defending them in the 3GPP standards meetings.
Writing meeting report and providing periodical status updates and tutorials for the features that are defined in the attended working groups.
Works closely with Intel's product teams for technology transfer, interpretation of SDO specifications, and internal/external interface for Intel technology collaboration.
Support prototype/product development of 5G wireless and emerging technologies.
The candidate is expected to participate in and assist with trial activities with the Wireless/5G ecosystem.
The job position requires work with global standards bodies which will require frequent travel for week-long meetings (approx. 6-8 trips per year) in North America, Europe, and Asia.

Bachelor's, Master's or Ph.D (preferred) in Electrical or Computer Engineering or any other related field, or and equivalent mix of education and experience, with demonstrated technical leadership and strong wireless (cellular) communication background.
6+ years of experience after education in :
Experience working with global standards bodies and industry alliances (such as 3GPP, NGMN, GSMA, ITU, IETF, etc.) in wireless arena.
3GPP Working Experience in 3GPP SA/CT WG, especially 3GPP CT1, CT3, CT4 is preferred.
5G System architecture, 3GPP NAS (Non-Access Stratum) layer and features defined in 3GPP Releases (up to Rel-17)
Deep understanding of 3GPP standards (including but not limited to 3GPP LTE/EPC, 3GPP 5G-NR/5GC, 3GPP IMS) and their application on end to end product design.
Effectively lead multi-functional teams and proficiency in leading technical initiatives across different groups.
The Corporate Strategy Office is chartered to support the executive office in driving corporate initiatives, including near and long-term strategy, major cross-group decision making and ensuring cross-company alignment. To deliver to that mission, the team owns shaping, driving and synthesizing insights to directionally orient trends as well as long range strategic planning/visioning , cross company alignment and greenfield innovation.
