The transaction will enhance the resources and potential of the business’ storage solutions, including client and enterprise SSDs, in the rapidly growing NAND Flash space amid the era of big data.

As the global leader in the semiconductor industry, Intel possesses many industry-leading SSD technologies including the most capable Quadruple Level Cell (QLC) NAND Flash products. As a Design Automation Graduate Intern you will be part of a world-class team that will transition to lead the SSD business at SK hynix.
This position aligns to Phase 2 of the transaction, which includes NAND technology and component development along with fab operations. Employees aligned to Phase 2 will continue to be employed by Intel and will continue to develop NAND technology and components and manufacture NAND wafers at the fab. Phase 2 of the transaction is expected to close in March 2025, at which time employees aligned to this phase of the transaction will transition employment to SK hynix.
Design Automation intern responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
Develop flows/tools that help design and layout engineers to execute projects with high quality.
Support and help with QA and documenting existing custom frontend and backend flows
Programming skills in perl, csh, python.
Understanding of custom backend industry standard tools such as cadence virtuoso, mentor graphics calibre.

Responsibilities may be quite diverse of a technical nature. U.S. experience and education requirements will vary significantly depending on the unique needs of the job. Job assignments are usually for the summer 6 months full time or for short periods during breaks from school.
You must possess the minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Relevant experience can be obtained through school work classes and project work internships military training and or work experience.
The candidate must be pursuing a MS or PhD degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
Minimum 3+ months of experience or equivalent coursework in the following areas:
With any version of Linux
Proficiency in a programming language (Perl, Python, Java, etc)
Basic knowledge with cadence virtuoso, skill language and pcells.
Understanding of spice simulators such as spice, spectre.
Knowledge on using data management software such as designsync, perforce or GIT.
Exposure to EDA tools, PDK, verification flows - DRC/LVS and starcXT.
Non-Volatile Solutions Memory Group: The Non-Volatile Memory Solutions Group is a worldwide organization that delivers NAND flash memory products for use in Solid State Drives (SSDs), portable memory storage devices, digital camera memory cards, and other devices.
