Analog RF Systems Applications Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for collaborative and creative people to join the Customer Experience Group within the Intel’s Programmable Solutions Group (PSG) to help us lead an industry transformation. We are looking for self-driven and motivated Applications Engineer with a strong background in system design involving FPGAs high speed analog and RF design to join our team. As an Analog RF Systems Applications Engineer you will be responsible for enabling customers our FPGAs in high frequency RF related applications. You will lead system level design and drive features methodology and demonstrations with a particular focus on the high-speed analog solutions for military 5G cellular and test and measurement applications. You will guide the development and support of our solutions working closely with customers and helping them with the successful adoption of the Intel solution.

Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to;

  • Implement FPGA solutions to Radio Frequency and spectrum dependent requirements to aid in customer development.

  • Drive successful and scalable adoption of the Intel PSG high speed analog solution

  • Drive best in class development flows and methodologies for our solution

  • Aid in advanced technical problems on the forefront of new technologies

  • Drive the evolution of tools and features related to the solution with collaboration with engineering marketing planning and our business units

  • Provide technical expertise to the field and our customers including on site design reviews solution proposals and conducting investigations into customer issues

  • Develop collateral including training materials application notes and whitepapers

  • Develop designs to demonstrate the Intel value proposition on our complete solution including hardware and software

  • Review technical proposals attend design reviews and provide feedback to enhance the customer experience

  • Test systems using oscilloscopes spectrum analyzers signal generators network analyzers logic analyzers and other test equipment

  • Programming in Matlab VHDL and CC for the implementation of signal processing algorithms



Bachelors Degree in electrical engineering computer engineering or related field

Minimum Qualifications

You must possess the minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Relevant experience can be obtained through schoolwork, classes and project work, internships, military training, and/or work experience.

  • 5+ years of hardware experience (ex design applications or related) implementing high speed analog signal chains.

  • Must be willing to work with customers

  • This position is not eligible for Intel immigration sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of hardware experience (ex design applications or related) implementing high speed analog signal chains.

  • Experience in FPGA design using Verilog or VHDL

  • Experience in characterizing and testing RF and mixed-signal systems high speed analog circuits ADC/DACs working in multi GHz region

  • Experience interacting with customers highly desirable

  • Experience in noise isolation techniques for RF analog and PLL systems

  • Experience in bringup testing and design validation testing of mixed signal boards and solutions

  • Experience in usage of high speed oscilloscopes VNA TDR Spectrum Analyzers and other lab instruments
