Firmware Engineer (Co-op)

Job Description

A co-op term with Intel of Canada's Non-Volatile Memory Solutions Group is a challenging but rewarding experience, allowing you to gain knowledge and experience in design and test of IC and module products for the next generation of Solid State Drives (SSDs). As a member of our Systems Engineering team, you will work alongside experienced engineers to solve new and interesting problems, making an important contribution to our exciting high-performance SSD projects.

Firmware Engineer

Does the idea of writing high performance firmware and tests for next generation SSDs appeal to you? Build the foundation for an exciting embedded software career with one of the most advanced electrical engineering companies in the world. Learn advanced techniques from industry experts that solve SSD performance and feature challenges, in areas such as hardware/software interfaces and media algorithms. Work alongside local and remote team members in a collaborative environment as you participate in the road to productization.

Employees are encouraged to work remotely due to Covid-19, all new hire orientations will be done virtually. This is subject to change and employees deemed as essential workers may be required to work on-site.

We are looking for enthusiastic students with communication and interpersonal skills, problem solving ability, a desire to learn and a good general knowledge of embedded systems, digital design, software/firmware development and testing methodology.

Job assignments will be based on available projects during the work term and on the skills and interests of the student. We encourage undergraduate candidates to apply.
We encourage students with relevant work experience (other co-op terms, work experience) to apply.


Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • The candidate must be pursuing a BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.

  • General knowledge of embedded systems

  • Debugging skills

  • Experience with project-based teamwork

  • C/C++programming experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with software development in RTOS environment

  • Experience with multi-threaded software development

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in US, Colorado:
$52,000.00-$147,000.00 (Hourly Role)
