Software Engineer (Temporary position)

Job Description

Human and AI Systems Research (HAR) is a team in Intel Labs that is focused on multi-disciplinary research spanning ethnography, design, HCI, and AI to create Human/AI collaborative systems that can amplify human potential and create sustainable and transparent AI solutions. We utilize multi-modal signals (e.g. vision, audio, speech, language, RF) and AI to infer and predict human state and actions and enable physically situated dialog and interactions. We conduct this research in the context of vertical domains including manufacturing, education, enterprise, and assistive computing for people with disabilities. Our research drives the development of integrated end-to-end solutions for creating immersive experiences in sensor-enhanced smart spaces.

We are looking for a flexible, quick learner SW Engineer who is able to dive into different technologies and help the creation of end-to-end SW systems. We envision working on different platforms such as Linux, Windows, Chrome, web-based apps.

Please consider that this is a Temporary position (until the end of 2021).

Responsibilities include:

  • Integrating AI-based technologies (i.e. recognition of face, body, speech, movement, activity, emotion, etc.) developed internally and externally into an easy to use modular infrastructure.
  • Testing individual components and applications to make sure they function properly and adhere to the stated requirements.
  • Performing data collection tasks, to evaluate and refine horizontal technologies performance and accuracy, as needed.
  • Testing developed applications, to gather qualitative and quantitative data on user's experience with these applications.


Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor´s in Computer Sciences, Systems Engineering or related.
  • 2+ years of experience in software development.
  • SW Development languages: C++, Python, HTML5/Javascript.
  • Linux OS and Linux Shell Script.
  • Ability to clearly document code and deliverables.
  • Advanced English level.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Robotic Operating System (ROS).
  • Languages: C#, C, Java, Qt UI programming.
  • Windows API and programming.
  • Unity3D engine.
  • Experience with developing web apps and web services: Docker, OpenCV,
  • Experience with multi-person projects and related technologies for code management (i.e. Git).
