LTD is responsible for developing the Silicon process technologies that have been the foundation of Intel’s product success over most of its history.  With a full roadmap of future technologies under development to enable Intel leadership products it is important that LTD has the leadership to help grow and lead the organization to success.  As part of this technology development the work needs to support innovation at a regular cadence.

Principal Engineers in the Logic Technology Development group play a critical role in driving process leadership in silicon processing and packaging. New process technologies will be key to unlocking the potential of Intel's IDM 2.0 strategy.

As lead technologists, Principal Engineers are expected to lead teams of highly motivated engineers in solving problems by learning from the past and envisioning a new future. Lead teams of other technologists in technical work groups and may have a small team of people directly reporting to them. Intel looks for its technical leaders to leverage their talents and magnify their impact through excellent collaboration with other technical teams inside and outside of LTD.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Safety - Create and consistently support safety improvement initiatives in the fab and office areas.
  • Strategic Planning and Technical Advances - Drive the creation of compelling plans that can engage and unite the larger team to achieve great results. Principal Engineers drive new ideas that take us to new advances moving the state of the art forward.
  •  Daily Operations - The D1 factory is one of the largest producers of product wafers in all of Intel. Support of daily operations and breaking short-term and chronic bottlenecks accelerates our technical progress by more rapidly completing experiments and pays for our development work by delivering production wafers to our customers.
  • Culture - Demonstrate organization and emotional intelligence to understand how work is completed and how to build teams to reach new heights. Support the development of a vibrant, diverse, and inclusive cultural environment where employees and bring their whole selves to contribute and grow to their maximum potentials.
  •  Must be willing to work in a clean room environment wearing a gown, hood, booties, safety glasses and gloves.

Experience:

  • Driving technical organizations as a demonstrated creator and leader.
  • Demonstrated skills in building a vibrant and inclusive organizational culture
  • Working in roles that require both daily tactical consistency as well as long term strategy definition and roadmap execution.
  • 15+ years of experience in the semiconductor industry.
  • 10+ years of experience leading and setting priorities for engineering teams in a large organization.
  • 10+ years manufacturing process development experience optimizing semiconductor chemistries and process tools.

Qualifications

Engineering degree in Physics, Material Science, Chemical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, or a closely related field.
