Dry Etch Process Development Engineer

Job Description

F11x in Rio Rancho New Mexico is Intel's new Intel Optane Group (IOG) Technology Development site, and will focus on all Optane Technology Development, to deliver the silicon technology. The Intel IOG Rio Rancho Technology Development (RTD) Dry Etch group is looking for a talented and enthusiastic Process Development Shift Engineer.

As an IOG RTD Process Development Shift Engineer, you will be responsible for process development projects in Dry Etch. You will also be responsible for Cp-Cpk improvement projects, process specifications, and process control SPC. You will work closely with more experienced process development engineers to develop your technical skills and depth, as well as facilitate the progress of all development projects on a 24x7 schedule. You will be a key element to realizing a true 24x7 process development operation, enabling IOG RTD Dry Etch to achieve the development cycle speed needed to compete and win in the fast-paced semiconductor memory market.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Designing and planning experiments for the development of processes in Dry Etch

  • Work with integration and other unit process modules to define process specifications for a process

  • Establish and maintaining process SPC for processes in development

  • Creation and documentation of process control specs to be used by the operations team

  • Defining and executing plans to improve Cp-Cpk

  • Interfacing, and collaborating with the rest of the unit process development team to facilitate continuation of experiments.

  • Collaborating with the operations team to facilitate progress of key lots .

You must possess the below education and minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.


  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, Physics, Chemistry, or related field.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in the following areas: Semiconductor FAB processing, Statistical Process Control SPC, or Design of Experiments DOE principles

  • Semiconductor process development experience in Thin Films, Diffusion, CMP, Implant, Litho, Etch, and-or Metrology

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience volatile and/or non-volatile memory

  • Ms or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, Physics, Chemistry, or related field
