This is an exciting time to be at Intel come join our team as a NAND Design Validation Graduate Intern and work on one of the most advanced 3DNAND and SSD technology portfolios in the world. As the global leader in the semiconductor industry Intel possesses many industry leading SSD technologies including the most capable Quadruple Level Cell QLC NAND Flash products As a NAND Design Validation Graduate Intern you will be part of a world class team that will transition to lead the SSD business at SK hynix.

This position aligns to phase 2 of the transaction which includes NAND technology and component development along with fab operations employees aligned to phase 2 will continue to be employed by Intel and will continue to develop NAND technology and components and manufacture NAND wafers at the fab phase 2 of the transaction is expected to close in March 2025 at which time employees aligned to this phase of the transaction will transition employment to SK hynix.

The NAND Design team is seeking a graduate intern to be part of the Design Validation team to help qualify the next generation of Intel's NAND Flash Memory. NAND Design Validation Engineers are mainly responsible in validating NAND chip functionality, testability and compliance to perform specification. In this capacity you will develop scripts, macros and execute to collect data in the laboratory using state of the art equipment such as wafer micro-probing and characterization tester to analyze the results, create and present technical reports. Part of your role is also understanding the NAND chip operation technical details based on the datasheet, perform circuit and/or simulation analysis firmware debug signal analysis, and generate test macro sequences to validate, debug the product issues. You will also work closely with Design Product Test and Reliability Engineering teams as an integral part of the Product Development team with the end goal of qualifying the NAND device for production.

This is a 6 month internship with possibility of extension and will be performed onsite.


You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work, classes, research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

The candidate must be pursuing a MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field

Minimum Requirements
Minimum 6+ months of experience or equivalent coursework in the following areas:

  • Programming language C, PERL, JAVA, Python, etc.

  • Electronics laboratory Practical exposure on using oscilloscope parametric Analyzer Microprobing Function Generator and Memory Characterization Tester.

  • CMOS and semiconductor device physics.

  • Transistor level circuit simulation tools SPICE, etc.

Preferred Requirements
Minimum 6+ months of experience or equivalent coursework in the following areas:

  • CMOS circuit design and verification

  • Logic and Mixed signal simulation

  • Digital design language such as VerilogVHDL

  • Simulation tools like VCS Modelsim IUS

  • Analog circuits like Pumps and Regulators

  • Custom design environments such as Cadence Virtuoso
