Intel Programmable Solutions Group is seeking talented highly motivated candidates to join it's Application Engineering Team delivering technical support to  customers and partners in Europe.

As an Application Engineer in our European Regional Application Engineering team you will be responsible for delivering expert level technical support on Intel PSG's products.

About the role:

You will work in a rapid learning environment alongside industry experts who will support your daily development and knowledge growth. Training courses will further accelerate your learning with potential opportunities to visit other Intel PSG locations worldwide.

You will learn how to use all the resources at your disposal to make sure that our customers can realize their FPGA based designs as efficiently as possible using our silicon software and IP products.

Your opinions and thoughts will be valued from day one. You will be expected to collaborate with a wide range of teams within PSG to ensure that you meet your technical support objectives and will be expected to identify the most appropriate means to deliver that support to ensure that the customers you are working with can achieve their design goals.

Key responsibilities:

  • Delivery of technical support in the resolution of FPGA design and application issues

  • Depending on your technical experience and interests this may cover component architecture and fitting issues, programming and configuration, silicon performance and functionality, board interface and design issues, high level design flow and embedded processor implementation

  • Delivery of reactive and proactive technical support in one or more product areas to Intel PSG customers, sales teams and design partners as necessary.

  • This may include the delivery of training and will extend to customer visits as appropriate

  • Communicating with your customers using our CRM systems, email and telephone. It will be your responsibility to investigate the support requests assigned to you and resolve them directly through the appropriate use of simulation and other analysis tools or by working with the appropriate components and evaluation boards

  • The proactive aspects of the position will require participation in development projects possibly as part of an international cross organizational team and may include the generation of collateral and reference designs

  • Development of strong local regional and international intra and inter organizational communication and cooperation in a team based collaborative environment

  • The management of technical support activities in an efficient manner utilizing the issue management systems that are available in the company working with the rest of the application engineering team and the extended sales team to prioritize issues effectively based on Intel PSGs business objectives

  • Maintenance of your level of technical expertise by identifying and communicating your development requirements and attending suitable internal and external training activities

Important for us:

  • The ability to work flexibly in a multitasking team-based environment

  • Good interpersonal skills and an ability to apply sound judgement

  • Good technical knowledge with skills and experience in areas such as FPGA or ASIC design using Verilog/VHDL or high level design tools e.g. OpenCL board design board debug circuit and board modelling and simulation e.g. Spice and IBIS and embedded systems design

  • Experience with the use of oscilloscopes, signal generators, pattern generators, logic analyzers and other laboratory equipment.

  • Good communication , problem solving skills and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment

  • Bachelor of Science  in Electronic Engineering or equivalent in addition to 1 year of relevant experience
