Pre-si Power and Performance System validation engineer

Job Description

Pre-Si Valid/Verification Engineer at Intel, you will work closely with various international teams and stakeholders to develop Pre-Silicon power and performance validation tests to verify system will meet design requirements. Creates test plans for RTL validation, defining and running system simulation, emulation, and FPGA models, and finding and implementing corrective measures for failing RTL tests. Analyzes and uses results to modify testing to ensure highest quality of Intel hardware/software products.

This position is part of the pre-silicon team that is focused on enabling an incredible user experience with highly integrated functionality while driving the industry leading power efficiency for longer battery life.

This position will help drive validation and SW development deeper into pre-Silicon product design. Engineers will work with design and architecture teams to comprehend technical requirements for pre-Silicon platforms: virtual platform, FPGA, emulation, and hybrids.

In response, they work with pre-Silicon platform teams to define a platform continuum and consistent workflows across platforms. A special area of focus is platform firmware, software, and OS integration and bring-up.

In this role responsibilities include, although not limited to:
- Designing custom digital circuit blocks (custom circuit types include RAM, ROM, PLA, Register file and arithmetic Data Path)
- Executing Validation Content on simulators/emulator/FPGA for digital circuit verification, performance validation
- Debugging Pre-Si and post-silicon systems to root-cause logic bugs
- Gather product requirements, define validation strategy and plans, develop and execute tests and analyze and report findings.
- Participate in a complete wide range of software development tools targeted for different market segments.
- Develop an understanding of new Intel architectures and software products
- Learn new Intel software products functionality and develop validation plans to ensure product quality
- Explore optimal test approaches and write test cases to increase product feature coverage
- Knowledge of DL/ML AI Artificial intelligence frameworks. Tools and Industry standard workloads
- Gather and analyze test metrics and develop improvement plans for meeting power and performance targets


Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.


Minimum Qualifications:
- Candidate must have Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or other science/engineering related field.
- At least +5 Years of experience with (some of the experience may be offset by Master or PhD degree):

- Advance experience in VLSI logic design using languages like Verilog, VHDL and/or HDL language.

- Advanced Computer Architecture and SoC system knowledge and Experience on memory, cache hierarchy and/or fabric interconnects.

- Advanced understanding software implications on power and performance

- Experience with Verification

- Proficient testing and tests content development for power and performance verification in C/C++, Python.


Preferred Qualifications:
- System on Chips (SOCs), Power and Performance Analysis
- Knowledge of DL/ML AI Artificial intelligence frameworks. Tools and Industry standard workloads

- Experience in Power Estimation, Analytics and Parametric.

- Experience in the use of EDA tools for driving power projection debug across multiple workloads an scenarios
- Experience with modern CPU architecture,
- Experience with Microprocessor or Chipset design methods
- Knowledge of Android OS, or Linux OS, or Windows OS
- Experience with IO systems PCIe, USB. DDR
- Strong Problem-solving skills and Ability to multitask
- Ability to work in a dynamic and team-oriented environment
- Ability to flex between multiple roles throughout the progress of the project
