Senior Server BIOS Enabling Engineer

Job Description

Come join our BIOS and Firmware enabling team as a Platform Application Engineer in Intel's Data Center Group. In this role you will work closely with Cloud and Enterprise customers to enable UEFI based system firmware for Intel server platforms. Working closely with BIOS Vendors (IBV’s), internal teams you will aid in creating documentation, collateral and designing the customer enablement process.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Learn the key technologies and features of Intel server silicon.

  • Work with customers to enable Firmware Support Package (FSP) reference code, define release processes, generate, and update collateral, deliver internal/external technical training, drive issue closure with engineering.

  • Understand and analyze the customers' requirement on new features and capabilities.

  • Participate in new product development, represent customer technical needs, develop and present technical training contents, participate in customer visits.

  • Act as a technical expert and provide timely response to customer requests.

  • Collaborate with various Intel organizations like silicon design, validation, firmware validation, platform integration to build a BKC release, and debug and fix BIOS related issues.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or closely related field.

  • 5+ years’ experience developing UEFI BIOS and system software with experience in industry standards needed for BIOS development

  • 3 + years’ experience in IA-32 platform architecture

  • 5+ yrs. in C and/or assembly programming with experience on modular software design.

  • 5+ yrs. experience in debugging/root causing software failures

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with FSP based BIOS or firmware development

  • Experience in collaborating across multiple geographies and cross-functional teams such as silicon design, board design, or validation teams
