System Validation Undergraduate Intern (-SK)

Job Description

This position is associated with the sale of Intel's NAND memory and storage business to SK hynix (You can read more about the transaction in the press release - https://newsroom.intel.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/11/2020/10/nand-memory-news-q-a.pdf). The transaction will enhance the resources and potential of the business' storage solutions, including client and enterprise SSDs, in the rapidly growing NAND Flash space amid the era of big data.

You will be part of a world-class team that will transition to lead the SSD business at SK hynix.  

This position aligns to Phase 1 of the transaction, which includes the 3DNAND enterprise and client SSD business. Phase 1 is expected to close in late 2021, subject to regulatory approvals and other customary conditions. At deal close, all employees aligned to this phase of the transaction will transition to SK hynix. 


System Validation interns within the Platform Validation Organization work in a multidisciplinary organization and collaborate with Firmware ASIC SV and other organizations to validate Intel Solid State drives. In this role the engineering intern will work within the Platform Connected System Electrical team to deliver SSDs that meet or exceed product requirements Develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education judgment and formal software and/or industry standard tools to deliver a test process.

Responsibilities may be quite diverse and of technical nature US experience and education requirements will vary significantly depending on the unique needs of the job. Job assignments are usually for the summer or for short periods during breaks from school. The length of the internship is from 3 to 6 months preferably 6 months.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Candidate will creatively apply the technical knowhow systems thinking analytical thinking prototyping and testing knowledge against design constraints and boundary conditions industrial design cost performance criteria and other design constraints to research develop and productive mass producible solutions.

The ideal candidate should exhibit the following behavioral traits:

Qualifications

Candidate must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work, classes, research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • The candidate must be pursuing a BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Systems Engineering or Computer Science or related field.


Minimum 3+ months of experience in the following or equivalent coursework in the following areas:

  • OS BIOS and HWSW interactions

  • Scripting languages such as Python or PERL


Preferred Qualifications
Minimum 3+ months of experience in the following or equivalent coursework in the following areas:

  • Oscilloscopes Signal analyzers and other test tools

  • Test development and validation environment

Non-Volatile Solutions Memory Group:  The Non-Volatile Memory Solutions Group is a worldwide organization that delivers NAND flash memory products for use in Solid State Drives (SSDs), portable memory storage devices, digital camera memory cards, and other devices.  The group is responsible for NVM technology design and development, complete Solid State Drive (SSD) system hardware and firmware development, as well as wafer and SSD manufacturing.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in US, Colorado:
$52,000.00-$147,000.00 (Hourly Role)
