Test Research and Development Engineer

Job Description
Intel's Tester and Platform Technology Development (TPTD) Team is seeking a passionate and energetic Test Software Engineer to help in software validation of the next generation internally produced ATE test equipment. Business group overview: As the world's largest chip manufacturer, Intel strives to make every facet of semiconductor manufacturing state of the art from semiconductor process development and manufacturing, through yield improvement to final test and optimization, and lastly packaging. Employees in the Technology and Manufacturing Group are part of a worldwide network of manufacturing and assembly/test facilities. We are currently looking for a talented Software Validation Engineer to fill the dual role of: 1) Feature validation and support for Intel's tester platforms and test program usage models 2) Tool development used for software validation 3) Performing software validation using latest Windows technologies The position requires the ability to simultaneously work on multiple projects while balancing deadlines and priorities, in addition to communicating the progress of current projects. You will be working with other managers/engineers to validate (and develop) software and interactive tools for Intel products, and have opportunities to contribute to the entire tester software stack and ecosystem such as PCIe/USB Windows drivers, C++ data structure/compiler, API, GUI, etc. We're looking for experienced engineers with test program development, ATE validation/development hands-on experience, who are motivated to seeing their creative solutions used to test by billions of Intel devices in the next decade. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Ability to be a technical lead for the team Develop project plans with schedules including breakdown of complicated tasks into defined and appropriately sized components for sprint-based delivery Consulting with development and validation engineers in resolution of problems Give regular status updates, handle escalations, and help needed requests to keep team executing at peak levels Interviewing and hiring qualified candidates The candidate should also exhibit the following behavioral traits or/and skills: Ability to track and prioritize tasks Deliver quality products under tight deadlines Verbal and written communication skills Working both independently and with members of a diverse team Organizational skills Ability to quickly learn and apply new skills Team responsibilities include but are not limited to: Write test methods and user functions to test new software and hardware features on Intel Testers Analyze software requirements and designs, and provides feedback on their testability Debug software products using systematic tests to develop, apply, and maintain quality standards for company products Develop, modify, and execute software test plans Analyze and write test standards and procedures Maintain documentation of test results to assist in debugging and modification of software Analyze test results to ensure correct functionality, determine root causes of failures and recommends corrective action File defects for any failures


Qualifications

Possess a bachelor's degree (with 6+ years of relevant experience) or master's degree (with 4+ years of relevant experience) in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science. 3+ years of experience in ATE test development/debug Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering Validating and debugging software Creating test plans Programming with C++ and C# languages Programming in Python, Perl or other scripting languages .NET and Visual Studio or Other IDEs Agile..Scrum software development Computer Architecture, Operating System and concepts
