As the global leader in the semiconductor industry Intel possesses industry leading SSD technology and the most capable NAND Flash products As a Sr Product Engineer you will be part of a world class team that will transition to lead the SSD business at SK Hynix.
This position aligns to Phase 2 of the transaction which includes NAND technology and component development along with fab operations. Employees aligned to Phase 2 will continue to be employed by Intel and will continue to develop NAND technology and components and manufacture NAND wafers at the fab. Phase 2 of the transaction is expected to close in March 2025 at which time employees aligned to this phase of the transaction will transition employment to SK Hynix.
As a Senior Product Engineer you are responsible for bringing up new cutting edge 3D NAND Technologies by working with brilliant team of engineers. You will be faced with complex problems in bringing up the technology and are required to possess excellent problem-solving skills. You will be responsible for mentoring and instructing new engineers along with the product ramp up. You will work hand in hand with several cross functional teams such as Design Process Device Characterization Reliability and Test Engineering teams in bringing up and qualifying the product requiring communication multitasking and presentation skills
Job Role and Details:
As part of the broader NAND Product Development Engineering department, you will be responsible for characterizing the health of NAND flash wafers and components in terms of performance, cycling, and temperature.
The focus of this team within PDE is to deliver a product that meets RBER qualification specifications (tPROG/tBERS/tR) across all cycle counts and usage conditions.
This role involves the development of NAND features to optimize Silicon performance, with close collaboration from design, architecture, manufacturing and other disciplines within Product Development Engineering.
Partnership with both component/system design/firmware teams is critical in this role to create the best performing solutions.
In this role, you will be expected to autonomously plan and schedule daily tasks; and develop solutions to problems leveraging your formal education and engineering judgment.
BS or MS degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or similar degree.
3+ years experience as a Product Engineer or Validation Engineer.
3+ years experience in firmware development.
3+ years of experience in software development using C.
Preferred Skills Experience:
Knowledge of NAND Flash erase program and read algorithms semiconductor. device physics NAND reliability mechanisms.
Development of firmware for NAND or memory system.
Prior experience and familiarity with Perl Python JMP.
Knowledge of NAND Flash to system integration.
