DTM Central Industrial Engineer

Job Description

This position is associated with the sale of Intel’s NAND memory and storage business to SK hynix (You can read more about the transaction in the press release - https://newsroom.intel.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/11/2020/10/nand-memory-news-q-a.pdf). The transaction will enhance the resources and potential of the business’ storage solutions, including client and enterprise SSDs, in the rapidly growing NAND Flash space amid the era of big data.  

This is an exciting time to be at Intel – come join our team as a DTM Central Industrial Engineer and work on one of the most advanced 3DNAND and SSD technology portfolios in the world. As the global leader in the semiconductor industry, Intel possesses many industry-leading SSD technologies including the most capable Quadruple Level Cell (QLC) NAND Flash products. As a DTM Central Industrial Engineer, you will be part of a world-class team that will transition to lead the SSD business at SK hynix.  

This position aligns to Phase 2 of the transaction, which includes NAND technology and component development along with fab operations. Employees aligned to Phase 2 will continue to be employed by Intel and will continue to develop NAND technology and components and manufacture NAND wafers at the fab. Phase 2 of the transaction is expected to close in March 2025, at which time employees aligned to this phase of the transaction will transition employment to SK hynix.

Our work revolves closely around capital equipment planning, business allocation, and production planning. This team's outcome influences multibillion-dollar budgets and navigates complex challenges in executing our global manufacturing strategy while working with product development, manufacturing, finance, and supply chain engineers worldwide.

Job Roles:

  • Coordinate with teams worldwide on capital purchases, space limitations, and capacity insights.

  • Facilitate fab benchmarking and planning activities across the division.

  • Craft methodologies and standards that drive strategic and tactical capacity decisions.

  • Working closely with product development teams to aid in the successful product launches from early development through high volume manufacturing.

  • Take active roles in ensuring timely project and product deliveries.

  • Build close relationships with business partners across the division and take an active role in building world-class methodologies and processes

  • Take an active role in communicating recommendations to senior management


Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS or MS degree in Industrial Engineering or related technical field.

  • Minimum 4+ years of analytical work history in manufacturing or supply chain operations.

Preferred Qualification:

  • Hands-on experience in extracting insights from various data types and applying modeling and optimization algorithms.

  • Experience in developing solutions for open-ended projects with cross-functional teams, preferably in the context of factory operations.

  • Some experience with data acquisition tools, large datasets, and data mining.

  • Knowledge in relevant coding languages: C/C++, .Net, R, or Python.

  • Solid understanding of optimization tools such as CPLEX, AMPL, Gurobi, etc.

  • Working knowledge of predictive modeling

  • Working Knowledge of business intelligence reporting tools such as: Tableau, Power BI, etc.

Non-Volatile Solutions Memory Group:  The Non-Volatile Memory Solutions Group is a worldwide organization that delivers NAND flash memory products for use in Solid State Drives (SSDs), portable memory storage devices, digital camera memory cards, and other devices.  The group is responsible for NVM technology design and development, complete Solid State Drive (SSD) system hardware and firmware development, as well as wafer and SSD manufacturing.
