Testing Canada Undergraduate Internship

Job Description

Intel's IoT Group is one of the fastest growing organizations within Intel and is creating enhanced Edge computing solutions to enhance the lives of every person on earth.

The PSV (Post Silicon Validation) team within IPE (IOTG Platform Engineering) is looking for a Silicon/Functional Validation intern to develop, execute and debug tests which exercise silicon features. This testing will leverage emulation (Pre-Silicon) environments and a variety of tools and techniques to ensure CPU feature functionality.

In alignment with Intel's focus on employee safety during the Covid pandemic, this will be a remote position; all job related activities such as meetings, access to platforms, test development, and test execution will be accomplished through secure remote connections and tools provided by Intel. The responsibilities will include activities such as Validation infrastructure development, creation and enablement of Automation capabilities, test development, execution, and debug.

Length of internship: minimum of 3 months for summer 2021.


Qualifications

You must possess minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences. This is an entry level position and will be compensated accordingly.

This position is not eligible for employment-based visa/immigration sponsorship.  Intel sponsors individuals for employment-based visas for positions where we experience a shortage of US Workers. These skills shortage roles are typically STEM contributing positions requiring a Master's or PhD degree, or a Bachelor’s degree with three years’ related  job experience. This position does not qualify for Intel Sponsorship because it is either (1) a non-STEM contributing position, or (2) a STEM position that only requires a Bachelor’s degree and less than three years’ experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidate must be pursuing a BS degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field.

A minimum 3+ months of experience or equivalent coursework in the following areas:

  • Coding experience with C/C++ and Python, and associated debuggers

  • User experience with the Linux operating systems

  • Hands-on experience programming and using Arduino/Gemini/RaspPi is useful

  • Firm grasp of binary and hexadecimal

Preferred Qualifications:

A minimum 3+ months of experience or equivalent coursework in the following areas:

  • Candidates familiarized with both software and hardware components, along with good experience using Python, C, and the Linux operating system

  • Exposure to IA architecture
