Senior CPU Architect

Job Description

Intel's System Architecture and Simulation group has an opportunity for you. We develop Intel's CPU architecture and provide tools widely inside of Intel for architecture development, logic verification, and early system software development. We are looking for Senior CPU Architect to join our team of dedicated engineers who ensure only the highest quality parts are delivered to our customers.

In this role you will drive across all features that impact CPU performance and power, both at a microarchitectural level (pipelines, out-of-order execution, caches, branch prediction, simultaneous multi-threading, etc), and architectural level (Instruction Set extensions for primary & emerging workloads).

In addition, you will help us with the following responsibilities:

  • Defining forward looking technical solutions across complex cross-interactions of hardware and software.
  • ROI evaluations along product and competitive axes, and prioritization across roadmap projects.
  • Complexity evaluations with design and validation, and understanding of all HW & SW execution stages.
  • The individual is recognized in the industry as a world-class leader, as reflected in previous roles in patents, publications, conferences, and industry committees.

Intel Contract Employees are hired directly by Intel on a fixed term or specified purpose contract and are employees of Intel for the duration of the contract.


Minimum skills and experience:
BS Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or other related field with 20+ years of experience.
Your experience with the following:

  • Technical expert in CPU areas
  • Recognized in the industry as a world-class leader, as reflected in previous roles in patents, publications, conferences, and industry committees.
  • Broad and deep experience in customer engagements, for identifying new trends and business dynamics, and originating strategies to ensure competitive leadership.
  • A proven track record of recognizing trends early, and conceiving strategies that meet the ecosystem needs, matched with benefit to Intel, long-term execution simplicity/elegance, and minimal change/thrash.
