Sensor SW and Audio Technology Enabling Engineer

Job Description

The successful candidate will be part of the Client Ecosystem Development (CED) team. There are 3 Key responsibility areas:

Support Sensor software solution development

  • Act as a program manager to consult with OEMs and Intel sensor driver/FW development team in order to define middleware specification for 3rd party software solution providers
  • Collaborate with 3rd party software solution providers and OEMs on middleware and applications development using Intel Platform Framework for sensors
  • Ensure middleware/SW application is compatible with Intel architecture on power, graphic, sensor and audio
  • Ensure Intel's development tool version is in compatible with HW vendor drivers/Intel algorithms before release
  • Manage proof of concept (POC) with SW/HW vendors and OEM on integration from driver, DTT, IPF to application layers, schedule and hitting milestones
  • Manage Intel contractor (Contingent Worker) on HW/SW testing schedule and completion of tasks
  • 60 percent of bandwidth will be spent on this effort

Support new audio technology development for laptop display implementation

  • Understand the technical requirement that make the new audio technology works
  • Work with audio HW and SW vendors to develop solutions for implementation into laptops
  • Work with team member and incorporate solution into a prove of concept (POC) laptop to demonstrate the results to internal and OEMs
  • Drive OEM adoption of the new audio technology solutions
  • Define future audio innovations and roadmap with the focus of integration with future display technologies
  • 30 percent of bandwidth will be spent on this effort

Deliver innovated ideas and solutions for future roadmap

  • Provide ideas on sensor and audio HW/SW should evolve, new/future product trend, new process in order to develop an innovation pipeline for Intel to invest in the trend/future
  • Identify and work issues with the vendors, internal marketing, engineering and initiative groups
  • Develop a growing and consistent knowledge of products and use the knowledge effectively to support product introduction and volume production ramp
  • 10 percent of bandwidth will be spent on this effort


Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science with min of 7 years in software, firmware and middleware development experience
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft driver development, implementation from an end to end process perspective
  • Strong knowledge in user experience requirement for future innovation development
  • Strong knowledge in sensor and audio HW development process
  • Proven track record on cross group collaborative skills
  • Strong communication skill with great capability to understand, specify and communicate requirements to marketing and engineering teams
  • Excellent customer support skills
  • Willing to travel max. 20 percent of time
  • Willing to work in a highly ambiguous environment and to achieve high quality results
  • English comprehension (Speak, Read, Write) are a must, Mandarin preferred (to deal with Taiwan customer)
  • Experienced in incorporating sensor and audio technologies with display technology will be a plus
  • Other prefer skillsets: strong leadership and cross group program management, spec management, validation, strong planning and execution, tool development, vendor engagement and support, industry training through seminars and compatibility plug-fests, demo development and industry evangelism/influence.
