Job Description

Over the past decade, Intel has demonstrated its commitment to advancing uses of data as a strategic asset and Artificial Intelligence (AI) models that most positively impact our world. As part of this transition, the hardware, software, and algorithms that Intel creates and utilizes on a daily basis can help society in a variety of ways, including identifying children at risk of exploitation, improving medical diagnosis, and protecting our natural resources. For example, Intel has partnered with NASA to use its AI platform to map the surface of Mars, as well as with National Geographic and the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation to help identify potential poachers in African wildlife reserves.   From collaborating with Parley for the Oceans to use Artificial Intelligence to analyze whale health in a mission to protect the world’s oceans to working with the Princeton Neuroscience Institute in using Artificial Intelligence to enable neuroscientists to map the human mind in real time, Intel is passionate about equalizing data, security & AI resources, capabilities, and services to benefit all.   

Subsequently, the Data, AI, & Security arm of Intel’s Government, Markets, & Trade Group seeks graduates of nationally accredited four-year universities to complete a one-year fellowship.  Once hired, duties may include (but not be limited to):

  • Researching new opportunities for Intel to use its data, AI, & security platforms for the promotion of the societal good
  • Conducting a comparative analysis of Intel and its competitors’ datacentric, AI, and security strategies &  platforms
  • Examining the technicalities of Intel technologies and determine which tasks it is uniquely suited to perform
  • Researching issues in the public sector for which Intel’s platform would be well-positioned to solve
  • Compiling a list of potential public and private entities that may also be interested in collaborating in these efforts, and;
  • Condensing research into a proposal for a new research projects that will further solidify Intel’s position as a leader in the use of data as a strategic asset, security as a mechanism of trust, and AI as a viable solution for public good


Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/ classes/ research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

Minimum qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in either of the following:

- Public policy or political science

- Science-related field(s) with specialization in AI, ML, and/or Data Analytics

  • 6+ months researching government use of data, AI/ML, computer vision and/or graphics.
  • This U.S. position is open to U.S. Workers Only. A U.S. Worker is someone who is either a U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, U.S. Lawful Permanent Resident, or a person granted Refugee or Asylum status by the U.S. Government. Intel will not sponsor a foreign national for this position.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Publications showing your previous research in journals, blogs, papers, etc.
  • In addition the ideal candidate should have excellent research, written, and verbal communication skills
