SSD Application Engineer
NSG is seeking a highly motivated, hands-on rock star to join the dynamic applications engineering team that delivers SSD solutions to NSG customers.
This role will be mainly focused on supporting Dual-Port customers and EMEA broad market.
As an Applications Engineer you will engage with both internal and external customers, including engineering, marketing, sales, and end-users. You will work directly with customers to design in NSG solid state drive solutions into existing and future platforms.
A successful candidate requires:
o Understanding of data center system basics such as HW and BIOS.
o Experience with Operating system, drivers and installation of sub-system components.
o Previous experience with PCIe and/or SATA bus trace capture and/or explanation some experience with NVMe and SATA protocols.
o Familiarity with storage architecture experience configuring, optimizing, and testing storage systems or other complex systems.
o Deep knowledge of Dual-Port NVMe SSD architecture and debug methods
o A positive, can-do attitude with unapologetic willingness to jump-in.
o Adaptable, able to work effectively in a global team and across organizational boundaries.
o Ability to work independently and multitask effectively.
o Customer orientation and influencing skills.
o Able to chart forward progress in ambiguous situations.
o Experience working with suppliers and/or customers to clarify requirements.
o Set and manage customer technical expectations
o Support customer product qualification and integration teams
o Manage SSD technical engagement
o Understand qualification/feature requirements debug customer hardware, firmware, and other technical barriers to adoption be the technical advise
o Consultant for the customer on all things SSD respond to
o Support customer events as they occur
o Provide technical design support for SSD as part of platform launch
o Provide technical training, as needed, to field teams and customers
o Review customer data/specifications and deliver feedback on required improvements and/or changes
o Provide customer technical input to internal product development teams
This position may require about 20% travel, may include domestic and international.

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.
The candidate must have a BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
12+ months of experience in the following areas:
�Systems and/or platforms
�Debugging or testing HDD/SSD platforms
�SATA, SAS, or PCIe storage devices
