Job Description

The Intel Visual Cloud Team is working on a set of emerging workloads in the data center that provides compelling, immersive visual experiences for end users.

The NCLG Visual Cloud Architecture team is responsible for product/system definition and architecture for Visual Cloud workloads from Datacenter to Edge covering the domains from Media, Graphics, Media Analytics and Immersive Media. NPG seeks an Intern to study and drive pathfinding and solution definition to ensure that Intel architecture provides differentiation to customers for these emerging workloads.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Working with technologists in the company and within the industry and collaborating with developers and project managers to evaluate feasibility of requirements and determine priorities for development.
  • Experience in GPU/Parallel architectures, 3D GFX/GPGPU programming languages, FPGA, APIs, OS, drivers, kernels, compilers.

In addition, interest and knowledge in one or more of the following areas is desirable:

  • Augmented and Virtual Reality
  • Computer vision, image processing
  • Video codecs
  • Video delivery and streaming methodologies
  • Game development, streaming and deployment
  • Graphics Visualization and Ray Tracing


You must possess minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

This U.S. position is open to U.S. Workers Only. A U.S. Worker is someone who is either a U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, U.S. Lawful Permanent Resident, or a person granted Refugee or Asylum status by the U.S. Government. Intel will not sponsor a foreign national for this position.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Candidate must be available for at least 3+ months of internship 2020
  • Candidate must be pursuing an Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
  • At least 6+ months experience or relevant coursework in Computer Graphics, Video Encode/Decode or Cloud Computing
  • 3D graphical programming demonstrated thru class-work, work-experience, or personal projects where you development 3D rendering algorithms with DirectX, OpenGL, Metal, Vulkan
  • Proficient in C/C++ development
  • Knowledgeable of Operating Systems and Concepts

Preferred Qualifications:

  • GPU Hardware experience or exposure.
  • Video Hardware Encode or Decode experience or exposure.
  • AR/VR development experience or exposure
  • Computer vision development experience or exposure
