Photolithography Automatic Process Control Engineer (APC)

Intel's Non-Volatile Memory Solutions Group is looking for experienced and highly motivated software developer with strong design and architecture skills to drive development of photolithography automation, APC, and data analysis/visualization software to help develop device pathfinding and world class manufacturing processes.

You will be responsible for engaging with technology-development (TD) process engineers and driving product development from ideation to deployment and beyond. This position is a technical role that requires the direct design and development of robust, extensible, and performant software systems, together with supporting infrastructure such as unit tests and build automation pipelines.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Leading innovation of future process control techniques and establishing process control systems to meet critical Optane technology roadmaps which can be transferable to high volume manufacturing
  • Lead or support development of online automation, redistributable modules, data analytics, and visualization software for the photolithography domain
  • Apply architecture and design principles and patterns to ensure that software packages are modular, extensible, scalable, robust, and highly performant
  • Establish automated test, build, deployment, and monitoring systems for all developed software
  • Leading and conducting software development evaluations and projects with equipment and software suppliers to establish best in class process control applications
  • Engage with process engineers, TD automation, and other content experts to identify software requirements to enable and accelerate litho TD
  • Work effectively with the suppliers to identify shortcomings and to propose and evaluate modifications/improvements to improve the process control systems
  • Work with Intel automation and external parties to meet overlay and R2R roadmap needs and ability to transfer that knowledge to rest of the team members
  • Transferring developed applications to high volume manufacturing and providing support in new factory startup, including training of production/receiving process engineers in high volume factories


Minimum MS (PhD preferred) in Computer Science/Computer Engineering or other engineering/physics-oriented background with strong software programming experience
Fluency with back-end/front-end software architecture and design practices is a must
Fluency in C#/.NET or a similar object-oriented language is required
Working knowledge of basic computer science data structures and algorithms
Strong skills defining and integrating RESTful APIs
Fluency with software source control and productivity tools
Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing, especially photolithography, is a plus

Additional Requirements:
Ability to troubleshoot and root-cause performance issues
The candidate must demonstrate a strong command of architecture and design patterns
Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal communication skills
Desired areas of expertise: full stack development, dB normalization, ORMs, open-source packages
Demonstrate experience with technical problem solving skills, with multitasking
Demonstrated experience working with external and internal partners, including leading edge semiconductor equipment and/or materials manufacturers
A fast learner, able to adapt to the culture and the technology
Must be flexible in accommodating changing priorities and working hours to support business needs
The ideal candidate will be inquisitive, innovative, and a team player with a strong focus on quality workmanship
