F11X Process Development Engineer - DryEtch-Hitachi

Job Description
Defines roadmaps to meet requirements, goals and milestones for a new technology process. Defines and establishes flow, procedures, and required equipment to develop new devices or products. Selects and develops material and equipment for the process to meet quality, reliability, cost, yield, productivity and manufacturability requirements. Plans and conducts experiments to fully characterize the process throughout the development cycle. Drives improvements on quality, reliability, cost, yield, process stability/capability, productivity and safety/ergonomic over variables such as material, method, equipment, environment and operating personnel. Develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education, statistical knowledge, and problem-solving tools. Develops strategy to resolve difficult problems and establishes systems to deal with these problems in the future. Is responsible for developing High Volume Manufacturing (HVM) business practices and tactical execution in ramping and sustaining a manufacturing facility. Trains production and receiving engineers for transfer to HVM.

Minimum Requirements:
Must possess a bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience or a Master/ Ph.D. with 3+ years of experience in Dry Etch with a major in Physics, Applied Physics, Optics, Photonics or related field.

Preferred Qualifications:
In-depth knowledge and practical experience with modulators, ring resonators, directional couplers, grating couplers, etc.
3+ years' experience of Statistical Process Control (SPC) or Design of Experiments (DOE) principles.
SOI wafers and waveguide-based processing for optical interconnects.
Expertise in process integration and development including Ge based PD and III-V processes.
Applied research or Product/Process Development experience.
REX tool experience including, installation, operation and development.
