SSD Firmware Development and Validation Graduate Intern

Job Description

We are seeking self-motivated intern to join a growing team of SSD developers who focus on moving Intel's NAND SSD technologies into new market segments. An SSD firmware engineer in this group will be involved in numerous activities including: contributing to developing new firmware, fixing defects and testing SSD firmware through Python scripts. Our interns will be involved in a subset of these type of activities depending on the start/end timing of the intern session. Job assignments are typically six months in duration.


You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences. This is an entry level position and will be compensated accordingly.

Minimum Requirements:

  • The candidate must be pursuing a MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or Computer Science.

Minimum 3 months of experience in the following:

  • programming in C/C++ or Python scripting.
  • RTOS concepts including task switching, deadlocks, and resource management

Preferred Qualifications:

3 + month of experience in:

  • ARM or equivalent processors.
  • Storage interface standards such as SATA, SAS, PCIe, or Fiber Channel
  • Bring-up of new hardware, including boot loader and code update.
  • Working with diverse team environment and in cross-site organizations.
  • Windows and Linux driver.
