Transistor/Interconnect Process/Device Development Engineer
PTD Transistor/Interconnect Process/Device Development Engineers are responsible for leading scientific research to enable design, definition of transistor/interconnect architecture and high volume manufacturing of products with innovative microprocessors.
PTD Engineers play an integral role in:
- Development of intellectual property
- Designing, executing and analyzing complex experiments to meet stringent engineering specifications that facilitate meeting technology's performance, reliability and yield goals
- Interfacing with process module, circuit design and product groups to understand and define requirements for the development of a high-performance process technology
- Development of the necessary equipment by collaborating with equipment suppliers to translate research ideas into products
- Working with equipment suppliers to identify equipment shortcomings, propose and evaluate hardware modifications to mitigate process and performance issues
- Operate an efficient manufacturing line to integrate several individual process steps that are involved in manufacturing of complex microprocessors
- In-site ramp from development to high volume manufacturing of products to demonstrate that the technology meets customer specifications
- Transfer process to high volume manufacturing factories via Copy Exactly! Methodology
- Installation and qualification of manufacturing capacity at development site, audit installation/qualification and supervision of first full loop at production sites
Candidate must have a Master's (with a minimum of 5years of experience) or a Ph.D. degree (with a minimum of 2 years of experience) in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Mechanical Engineering and related field experience in one or more of the following:
Inside this Business Group
- Semiconductor processing, device physics, and electrical characterization techniques.
- Research experience with advanced transistor device structures and architectures including fabrication (e.g. lithography, etch, film deposition, cleans, chemical-mechanical planarization, etc.)
- Expertise on characterizing the electrical performance of leading edge transistor devices including current-voltage, capacitance-voltage, high frequency characterization (ft, fmax), gate delay, etc. and performing device and circuit simulation to confirm analysis.
- Knowledge of future transistor device physics and process integration.
