Component Design Engineer

Job Description

Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

  • The design of chip layout circuit design, circuit checking
  • Device evaluation and characterization
  • Documentation of specifications
  • Modification and evaluation of semiconductor devices and components
  • Performing developmental and/or test work, reviewing product requirements and logic diagrams
  • Planning and organizing design projects or phases of design projects
  • Responds to customer/client requests or events as they occur
  • Develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education and judgement
  • Designing, simulating, and testing prototype circuits
  • Developing automation flows to improve the design quality and productivity

The candidate should possess the below behavioral traits:

  • Ability to be self-directing and show initiative
  • Good communication skills and demonstrated ability to summarize complex data sets for technical and nontechnical audiences

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

Minimum Qualifications:

You must possess an MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related discipline.

Minimum of 1 experience in:

  • ASIC design flow and validation.
  • Industry standard CAD tools/flows for digital and/or analog design.
  • CMOS circuits design, simulation, layout design and verification
  • Programming and scripting languages (Perl, Shell, Python or TCL).

Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum of 1 experience in:

  • Design using hardware description language (HDL or Verilog)
  • Device physics.
  • Cadence Virtuoso, HSPICE/SPECTRE, Calibre, ICV is a plus
