Video Systems Engineering Manager

Job Description

Intel is looking for a talented, engaging, hands-on manager to lead the FPGA Video Processing System Engineering team, located in Buckinghamshire, UK.
As the Video Systems Engineering Manager you will lead a team responsible for developing FPGA centric solutions targeting a wide range of next generation applications, including 8K resolution camera systems, video walls, interactive whiteboards, digital signage and high resolution displays.
Not only will you work in a rapid learning environment, alongside industry experts, you will also work in collaboration with the most innovative worldwide technology companies to accelerate next generation video and vision systems through highly optimized embedded FPGA implementations.
Your responsibilities will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Leading and motivating a team of engineers developing video and vision algorithmic functions and system designs
  • Driving continuous improvement of Agile development methodologies
  • Setting aggressive and exciting goals and tracking progress, holding regular performance conversations
  • Supporting team member's skills development and succession planning
  • Delivering system level designs to early access customers across multiple applications
  • Working closely with the business division leaders and system architects to define strategic direction
  • Supporting market leading customers - ensuring problems are debugged, bugs are fixed so that customer can release designs on time
  • Managing the yearly budget for the group
  • Purchasing new video equipment and development boards

Qualifications

  • An exceptional academic background is essential, with a BSc/MSc Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or in an equivalent technical subject
  • 5-10 years experience in relevant technologies (or equivalent)
  • Technical knowledge in the fields of video and/or vision processing
  • Previous management experience
  • Ability to work well within a variety of team environments
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
