Firmware Validation Engineer Undergrad Intern

Job Description

Intel Corporation develops technology that has enabled the computer and Internet revolutions which have changed the world. Founded in 1968 to build semiconductor memory products, Intel introduced the world's first microprocessor in 1971. Intel of Canada's Non-volatile memory Solutions Group (NSG) continues that tradition of cutting edge memory products, focusing on the fast growing area of Solid State Drives (SSDs). NSG is a business group within Intel that is responsible for the design, development, and manufacturing of SSDs for both client and enterprise applications.

A co-op term with Intel of Canada's Non-Volatile Memory Solutions Group is a challenging but rewarding experience, allowing you to gain knowledge and experience in design and test of IC and module products for the next generation of Solid State Drives (SSDs). As a member of our Systems Engineering team, you will work alongside experienced engineers to solve new and interesting problems, making an important contribution to our exciting high performance SSD projects.

Does playing the critical role in product realization of next generation SSDs appeal to you? This is an opportunity to build your development skills and to build a solid understanding of the software development lifecycle in a large, high-performing team. As a Firmware Validation Engineering Co-op you will work alongside other firmware and validation engineers to develop tests and tools that build product quality and team efficiency.

The ideal candidate will be able to:
- Analyzing FW feature and creating viable test strategies.
- Implementing test cases using Python and/or C programming.
- Collaborating with different functional teams to debug FW issues.
- Building tools to accelerate aspects of the software lifecycle

Validation is important for every design, and it is a key element of Intel SSD reliability. In this co-op, you will gain both system and low-level firmware feature knowledge. You will also be able to build a good validation mindset from a large-scale validation infrastructure and contribute to the final stage of SSD validation before shipping to the customer.
