Manufacturing Test Engineer

Job Description
In this role, the Test Engineer will be expected to engage with HW and SW engineering teams to develop functional test plans and manufacturing test solutions that will be deployed to contract manufacturers (CMs) to functionally test reference validation platforms (RVPs, CRBs) during the manufacturing/production stages. The Test Engineer will also be responsible for status communication, and priority negotiation to jointly work issues with various collaborators. They will build strong partnerships with the manufacturing team, hardware engineering team, program managers, CM manufacturing personnel, and other stakeholders to work cross-functional product, manufacturing and test issues. They will present regular updates to key stakeholders on project schedules, project risks.


Qualifications

-Crisp verbal and written communication/presentation skills
-Strong attention to technical detail and organizational skills
-Experience in risk taking and risk management
-Ability to manage frequent change, navigate project roadblocks and create contingency plans
-Familiarity with platform hardware and software elements
-Experience creating and driving DFX end-to-end from product design through factory implementation
-Knowledge of manufacturing test critical performance metrics (e.g., yield, throughput, coverage) and demonstrated experience using data to drive decisions and influence action
-Experience in software development (C/C++ in Windows and Linux environments), integration, validation, and release processes
-Experience with Linux and Python, BASH
-Experience with Lean manufacturing and continual improvement practices
-Knowledge of manufacturing industry test equipment and capability for structural and functional defect detection
-Proven experience introducing manufacturing test to outsourced partners

Additional Qualifications and Qualities Desired:
-Strong sense of ownership to ensure test issues are driven to resolution
-Knowledge of a variety of manufacturing environments, test development processes, and manufacturing test for low mix/high volume products
-Experience in hardware development, integration, validation, release processes
-Familiarity with hard debug processes and equipment (spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, network analyzers,etc.)
-Ability to travel domestically to oversee, manage, and support production builds
-Bachelor's Degree in engineering, business or equivalent combination of education and experience
