US Close & Reporting Recon GPO

Job Description
Position reports to our US Close & Reporting Controller in GAFS (Global Accounting & Financial Services). This role will serve as our Recon GPO overseeing the following items:
- This role will drive the design and execution of the Close and Reporting CnR organization's Business Process Management BPM model. It will coordinate and oversee BPM activities relating to Reconciliations to ensure we maintain world class.
- This role will oversee end to end process optimization by understanding and driven accountability through Key Performance Indicators (KPI), service level requirements, and policy and process standards
- Engaged with other companies on benchmarking on policy and process standards
- Drive continued transformation of the reconciliation process through elimination, standardization, simplification, and automation.
- Strong business partnership with our global community on the service of reconciliations, primarily our shared service center in Malaysia. Other business partners include Treasury Accounting/Operations, Comp and Benefits, Fixed Asset Accounting, Ops Finance, international sites, and EY.
- Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures with a focus on optimize our reconciliation controls for a World Class organization;
- Any ad-hoc matters


Qualifications

The successful candidate should possess a minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of 8+ years of accounting/finance experience. CPA is preferred. Key competencies include:
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP. Public accounting and/or financial reporting experience is a plus
- The candidate must communicate effectively, both upwardly and across organizations, troubleshoot problems/issues, and drive solutions throughout the Close and Reporting organization.
- Strong desire and ability to transform processes and partner/influence across Finance
- Strong problem solving skills, working across organizations and geographies to drive improvements and work through roadblocks
- Solid accounting experience and financial analysis, understanding of risk management
- Strong business partnering skills, crisp and concise communication to various levels
