TMG Strategic Planning Principal Engineer

Job Description

The TMG Strategic Planning team incorporates Factory Strategic, Capital and Layout Planning, an important role in defining what our factories and their associated capital equipment will look like to achieve our long-term manufacturing objectives. The Strategic Principal Engineer is responsible for leading and integrating TMG Fungibility and New Tool Insertion and integrating with Capital Operations and Intel manufacturing sites. This requires the ability to consider the larger strategic context, build and leverage a strong network within TD and FSM, think probabilistically, and utilize a sound business acumen base. The successful candidate will excel at proactively identifying issues and opportunities that can affect the strategic roadmap through developing strategies for future Intel technology nodes, utilizing external benchmarks to drive improvement, incorporating Decision Quality (DQ) methods for evaluating risk and statistical hedge strategies, working with partners to quantify their impact and develop solutions, and driving ratification of recommendations through senior management for the benefit of Intel.

The successful candidate is encouraged to have extensive fab experience and the understanding of tool and recipe level development along with the knowledge of transferring technologies from TD to FSM. Strong stakeholder and relationships within TD, FSM, CS,GSM, Finance and others to drive capital tool insertions and partner with TD and FSM sites to integrate technology and to establish the long range strategy with consideration of product roadmaps, demand, parameters, factory capability, affordability, and space. This requires the ability to consider the larger strategic context, build and leverage a strong network, and utilize a sound business acumen base. Understanding of long term Site Master Planning (SMP) and the ability to integrate long term strategies and turn strategy into executable plans and output is critical.


Required Qualifications:

  • BS/MS in Engineering with 10 years minimum experience in fab engineering and operations or related. MS or MBA in finance is preferred for business acumen and financial ROI analysis.
  • Technology: Understanding of process and tool development and technology transfer from TD to FSM is critical.
  • Technology Transfer: Solid understanding of new layer tool development and qualification of process from inline parameters through reliability testing.
  • Influence: Must be able to work with senior managers to influence decisions based on solid analytical and insightful business analysis.
  • Communication: Proficient in written and verbal communication. Expected to lead presentations to senior TD, FSM, TMG managers.
  • Analytical: Solid knowledge of statistics and capability, using SQL, JMP, Excel, and Yoda Creek to analyze process, tool and recipe implications to technology processes.
  • Motivated, self-directed, and able to work effectively both independently and within a team.
  • Effective leadership, communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills
  • Strong coaching and mentoring skills to develop the future senior ICs and leaders of the organization.
  • Able to build partnerships and integrate across key organizations to develop sound strategies with strong cross-organizational alignment.
