Runset Developer

Job Description

Component Design Engineers are responsible for the design and development of electronic components. Responsibilities may include: the design of chip layout circuit design, circuit checking, device evaluation and characterization, documentation of specifications, prototype construction and checkout, modification and evaluation of semiconductor devices and components, performing developmental and/or test work, reviewing product requirements and logic diagrams, planning and organizing design projects or phases of design projects. Responds to customer/client requests or events as they occur. Develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education and judgement.


  • Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
    • 1+ years of Runset development/support and/or VLSI product design experience.
    • 1+ years' with industry based (CAD) layout tools include: Cadence (Virtuoso, VXL), Calibre,
    • 1+ years' experience in DRC/LVS runset and algorithm development. Specific experience with Mentor Calibre and/or Synopsys ICV is a plus.
    • 1+ years' development and support of robust and efficient Design Rule Check (DRC) and Layout Versus Schematic (LVS) runsets.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Identify and drive performance optimization/improvement efforts
    • Development and support of complex algorithms for creating and manipulating layout design data.
    • Understanding of complex layout design rules and layout of complex semiconductor devices.
    • Develop and enhance density fill flows to meet customer requirements.
    • Creation and execution of QA test cases and regression suites including both schematic and layout entry.
    • Experience developing & supporting StarRC, Calibre PERC and StarRC-CCI interface flows
