Sound Open Firmware(SOF) is an open source audio DSP firmware and SDK that provides audio firmware infrastructure and tools for developers who are interested in audio or signal processing on modern DSPs. Sound Open Firmware is licensed under BSD/MIT for the firmware and BSD/GPL on the drivers. The SOF firmware and drivers are platform- and architecture-agnostic. SOF was created by Intel and is being supported by Google. On Mar.14, 2018, SOF has become a Linux Foundation project.
