Thermal Mechanical Engineering Manager

Job Description
Enable Intel's Data Center Products by leading the Guadalajara Thermal & Mechanical Component Design Engineering Team to deliver best in class mechanical retention and thermal component designs. The GDC Thermal Mechanical Component Design team is part of the Thermal Mechanical Components team within the Datacenter Component Engineering Group of the Data Center Engineering & Architecture Group. The team is responsible for partnering across DCG and ATTD teams to develop mechanical retention designs and optimized thermal solutions for products across the entire Data Center Roadmap through detailed engineering analysis, innovative design and use case application. The team also partners with internal and external partners to understand manufacturing capabilities and ensure retention and thermal designs enable cost-optimized solutions. The manager of the team will lead a team of 15-20 employees to deliver the solutions which enable the Data Center industry and are critical to Data Center product solutions.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications
- Mechanical Engineering or equivalent BS or MS with 10 years of industry experience
- Experience leading a technical team to deliver products to industry through the entire product life cycle
- Ability to apply situational leadership to optimize team performance and appropriate escalation paths as needed with partner teams.
- Experience making decisions on technical programs to drive the design forward and ability to influence internal and external stakeholders to understand and commit to decision
- Experience working with customers and translating customer feedback into design requirements
- Experience leading a project which requires supplier interaction and partnership to successfully deliver
- Ability to grow teammates careers through coaching, mentorship and connection to resources
- Inclusive leadership through processes and intentional actions
Additional Qualifications
- Experience enabling products or components in the Data Center Group
- Experience directly managing a team
- Experience implementing process improvements to enable team efficiency
- Experience working cross-organizationally including creation of common goals deliver a successful output
- Proven experience setting strategy to grow team capabilities, business opportunities or change execution path and executing to strategy
