Test R&D Engineer

Job Description

This position is responsible for manufacturing module automation of equipment performance and process capability for current and future product generations. Responsibilities include:

  • Process definition, development and continuous improvement.
  • Equipment definition, development and continuous improvement.
  • Materials selection and qualification.
  • Statistical process control implementation, including metrics, limits and response flows.
  • Process characterization through design of experiments and statistical data analysis.

This an entry level position and will be compensated accordingly.

  • Demonstrated leadership within technical teams.
  • Strong ability to multitask with good tolerance of ambiguity.
  • Creative problem solving skills and excellent troubleshooting/debugging skills, ability to drive problem resolution process from start to finish at individual or team level.
  • Demonstrated ability to own projects with limited supervision, balancing technical and business requirements, and identifying and driving key issues to closure.


You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Possess a M.S. or Ph.D. degree in: Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related engineering/science disciplines. Well qualified students with strong records with a B.S. degree in: Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related engineering/science disciplines will also be considered.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in a high volume manufacturing environment including hands-on resolution of issues on the floor, statistical process control, generation of procedures and RFCs.
  • Knowledge of experimental design and statistical concepts.
  • Background in process or equipment development, equipment design and experience with external supplier management is desirable.
