Automotive Product QRE - Sustaining

The IOTG Automotive Q&R Group is looking to hire a highly motivated Automotive Product Quality & Reliability Engineer (QRE) focused on sustaining post-qualification product health, responsible for quickly providing issue investigation and continuous improvement for our customers as our product base increases.
The Sustaining Product QRE responsibilities primarily consist of driving root cause investigation and corrective action implementation for customer reported product issues on automotive products (modules/boards using Intel components). The QRE also supports product manufacturing by owning qualifications for post-certification changes, material disposition, and by investigating issues during manufacturing where Division engagement is required.
This QRE would run the data analysis team that monitors Product Health using Intel and Customer-provided metrics, driving module-level issue identification and investigation. He or she would report out regularly to a joint PQRE/ ATM QRE management meeting that drives continuous DPM improvement for automotive products. When there are manufacturing changes that require new qualification data to be collected, the sustaining QRE owns the qual plan, analysis, and execution as part of the change control process. This work may require partnership with internal and/or external manufacturing partners to complete the qual.
In order to excel in this position, the candidate should be comfortable in a highly matrixed environment that includes numerous internal partners, external customers, and suppliers. Key skills this position needs include:
--Technical skills - applying structured problem solving to address the customer part failures; proposing models and driving next steps with key partners; commonality analysis. Use of multiple databases and analysis tools for commonality and margin analysis. Partnership with technical experts in customer Q&R, test, platform, design, fab / assembly manufacturing and GSM.
--Management skills - leading MRBs and Task Forces that consist of highly matrixed teams of experts from Fab, Assembly-Test, Platform validation, and Customer Q&R. Partnering with FSM/ATM Q&R on material containment if needed and providing subsequent documentation/records associated with the failure (ex: MRBs); managing closure and documentation of Process Change Notification (PCNs) associated with the product; monitoring key metrics such as volume of failures by product or time to closure.
--Communication skills - effectively engaging with internal partners in problem-solving and prioritization and to provide regular, succinct report-outs for internal partners and (infrequently) external customers.

Inside this Business Group
Must have a MS or PhD (or equivalent experience) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Materials Science or equivalent engineering discipline, and approximately 5 (MS) or 3 (PhD) years of industry experience.
Experience related to the following is preferred:
Model-based problem solving / 8Ds
Silicon or Board-level manufacturing skills/knowledge
Experience working with external OSATs, GSM, supply chain management
Module DPM / reliability failure mechanisms
Intel Customer Returns Process / FACRs
Data analysis skills/software (databases, statistical analysis such as JMP)
Knowledge of Product Quality and Reliability Practices (component or board level)
Component/Platform Electrical test and debug
Experiment design (DOEs)
