Android Camera Engineer

Job Description
Software Engineers conduct or participate in multidisciplinary research and collaborate with design, layout and/or hardware engineers in the design, development, and utilization of productivity enhancement layout tools and design rule checkers, electronic data processing systems software. Determines computer user needs, advises hardware designers on machine characteristics that affect software systems such as storage capacity, processing speed, and input/output requirements, designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Responds to customer/client requests or events as they occur. Develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education, judgement and formal software process.

Ideal candidate will be responsible for multiple aspects of open source Android OS and production Android OS, including but not limited to:
-Hands on with Android Camera HAL development (SoC specific codes and low level Camera HW control)
-Hands on with Linux Kernel Camera Drivers (Image Sensor, Lens HW, Flash and ISP drivers) and V4L2 framework
-Hands on with Camera software subsystem integration on Android Platforms
-Hands on with System debug & bug triaging


Qualifications

- Bachelor or Master of Engineering in Electronics or Computer Engineering
- 5~8 years of experience in embedded software development
- Deep expertise in Camera and systems software development
- Experience of Camera Bring-up activity on different ARM/X86 family SoCs
- Good Knowledge of V4L2 and Linux Camera Kernel Drivers
- Good knowledge of Camera HAL, ISP Pre and Post-Processing, 3A algorithm, etc
- Strong working knowledge on communication interfaces like I2C, MIPI-CSI, etc
- Strong C/C++ programming skills
- Knowledge on various Open source tools like Git, Cactus, Jira, etc
- Experience with Linux USB Camera is plus
- Experience in Open Source Linux software development and engineering
- Strong stakeholder/communication skills. Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Good working exposure with remote teams.
