Automotive Product Quality & Reliability Engineer

The IOTG Q&R Group is looking to hire a highly motivated Automotive Product Quality & Reliability Engineer (PQRE) to own Q&R deliverables for product development throughout the product lifecycle to balance aggressive product performance needs while still developing highly reliable products for our automotive customers.
Product QRE responsibilities include being the Q&R advocate in the business unit's cross-functional product development team during all phases of the product development activities. He or she will also work with design, test, Silicon/Assembly technology experts and reliability model owners to design and execute a qualification plan and assess the ability of the product to meet Intel and customer failure rate goals.
Because this team works on automotive-focused products, there are additional requirements unique to this market that will expose this QRE to external standards and automotive customer expectations that can be more stringent than Intel's typical high volume customers in client/server. The PQRE will need to respond to evolving and sometimes ambiguous business and customer requests, and develop solutions as they occur.
In order to excel in this position, the candidate should be comfortable in a highly matrixed environment that includes numerous internal partners who may be in multiple time zones. Key skills for this position include:
--Technical leadership - ability to interpret competing technical (performance, reliability) requirements to develop clear recommendations that balance business and quality requirements. Expect application of structured problem solving to address any qualification failures, leveraging partnership with technical experts in test, platform, design, fab / assembly manufacturing and GSM.
--Project Management - Demonstrated leadership in owning and managing a project to completion. Experience identifying, assessing, and managing risks. Managing the overall product qualification process that can span up to two years from product concept to production. This work includes leading qual analysis and execution teams, and any related MRBs or Task Forces, where full automotive quals are higher stakes due to risk of impact to tight customer schedules.
--Excellent Communication skills & stakeholder management - alignment on reliability commitments with our product development teams and with our customers is essential. Communication is central to effectively engaging with internal partners in planning, and execution of experiments, problem-solving and prioritization of experiment results, and providing regular, succinct report-outs for internal partners and external customers.
Inside this Business Group
Must have a MS or PhD (or equivalent experience) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Materials Science or equivalent engineering discipline, and minimum of 5 (MS) or 3 (PhD) years of industry experience.
Experience related to the following is preferred:
Foundation in Quality & Reliability Fundamentals:
- semiconductor device physics
- IC fabrication and Si reliability failure mechanisms
- accelerated stress testing and component qualification methodologies
- component test, fault isolation & failure analysis
- circuit design & architecture
- statistical analysis methods and design of experiments
Product Life Cycle or the QRC - Quality & Reliability Criteria
Intel problem management experience (PRTs, MRBs, use of model-based problem solving such as 8Ds)
