Government & Policy Director, Americas Territory

Job Description

As Intel focuses on businesses that power the data economy, public policy developments impacting digital transformation agenda in key America Territory countries (Argentina, Colombia, Canada, Chile) are growing in importance.  This position will act as the lead contact point for multiple Policy priorities subjects and work closely with business leaders in the region.  Public policy for the digital transformation agenda requires an understanding of issues involving connectivity, digital infrastructure, government access to private sector data, privacy, cyber security, international jurisdiction issues, data localization issues, government use of cloud computing vendors, Internet of Things National Plans development and execution, among other activities that promotes technology adoption and innovation.  An ideal candidate will have strong business unit counseling skills, demonstrated superior writing ability, experience analyzing legislation/regulation/standards and the ability to collaborate across substantive and organizational areas. The position is based in Buenos Aires or Bogota and will work across Intel and industry to support relationships with external partners, trade associations, relevant regional and national government officials and other policy influencers.


  • University degree in law, public policy, economics or political science with 10+ years' experience in public policy, government relations, advocacy. Advanced/postgraduate qualifications highly desirable.
  • Deep knowledge, experience and track record of working with the key countries institutions, policies, legislative processes and of governments relations.
  • Extensive network and strong working relationships with policy-makers, legislators, regulators, industry partners and opinion formers.
  • The ideal candidate must have strong analytical, oral and written communication skills, the ability to advocate complex technical and policy issues, and an optimistic, results-driven and solution-oriented focus.
  • Fluency in spoken and written Spanish/English is essential and additional languages are highly desirable. 
  • The role is particularly well-suited to a detail-oriented self-starter with a strong work ethic, sound judgement, and commitment to delivering high quality work product.
