Job Description
The Datacenter Platform Applications Engineering (DCPAE) Director will focus on DCG Server CPU products. This superior leader will provide technical insight, enabling and support for DCG customers including OEMs, ODMs, TEMs and CSPs.
DCPAE works extensively with our global customers to deliver a broad spectrum of technical scope. DCPAE partners with design and architecture groups across DCG to drive technical value both in customer early design in activity as well as enabling through their design and launch cycles. DCPAE also creates and publishes design collateral (Specs, Data Sheets, Design Guidelines, firmware, software, power/thermal/electrical/ mechanical guides, etc.)
DCPAE assists customers with customized design services and platform debug throughout their entire PLC. DCPAE also works closely with broader industry technologies associated with CPU based systems and platforms, delivering industry training, certifications, and broad enabling to ensure Intel has a robust customer base capable of deploying Intel-based platforms.
This DCPAE leader is expected to partner tightly with adjacent design, architecture, marketing and sales teams to significantly impact revenue and long term product growth. The successful candidate will actively partner with Intel customers to design in CPU's and platform architectures. The candidate will be comfortable with high degrees of task and deadline pressure plus ambiguity while maintaining attention to detail and high quality.

Key responsibilities include:
- Technically lead, manage and inspire a large, geographically dispersed team of DCPAE's in providing world-class technical customer enabling and support
- Partner with platform ingredient owners to solve CPU technical system issues and make the right program level tradeoffs
- Build a strong, scalable technical infrastructure to support our customers and achieve large growth while differentiating Intel's products through ease of implementation and time to market
- Build and maintain strong relationships throughout the industry to support the growth of the data center business, drive customer innovation
- Speak at Intel-sponsored and industry events to position Intel as a technology industry leader
- Set team priorities, get results across boundaries, meet schedule commitments, ensure an inclusive work environment, develop employees, and manage performance.
- Build strong partnerships within DCG (Arch, HW, FW/SW, MFG, BU, Finance), and PEG teams to help generate the right customer product at the required cost, and performance
- Interface with key internal stakeholders and customers to define the right product for the market at the right power/performance/price point
- Drive key technical innovation through creatively expanding existing boundaries and consistently exploring ways to improve overall product portfolio
- Pro-actively and creatively drive, set, and manage large budgets needed to execute and evolve customer product portfolio and improve overall support


Qualifications

- Posted as a Grade 10; Non-Grade 10 candidates with strong engineering experience and CPU, Platform, System and/Memory knowledge are encouraged to apply.
- Demonstrated deep technical understanding in one of the following: CPU FW/SW, HW Systems, Boards or Silicon, preferably with recent design or complex validation experience
- Proven history of keenly investigating, diagnosing, resolving complex technical and organizational challenges
- Minimum of 10 years of experience including internal or external customer-facing roles preferable
- Proven technical acumen in CPU, Memory and/or IO System domains
- Knowledge of data center customers, products, and technologies as a well as a large personal network within Intel and the ability to quickly and credibly build relationships.
- Proven track record of delivering products from concept all the way through volume production, and end of life.
- Demonstrated history of strong leadership and team building skills.
- Proven history of working well with senior technical and business experts
- Proven history of working closely with Arch, Design, Marketing, Sales to drive key product initiatives in a highly collaborative manner
- Recognized for the following key attributes: self-starter, self-motivator, advanced problem solver and passion for continuous improvements
- BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other related field
