Hardware Engineer Intern

Job Description

Intel's Silicon Photonics Product Division (SPPD) is looking for a graduate intern to participate in the high speed optical transceiver design and testing. The candidate will be responsible for participating the design of the optical transceivers, testing the optical transceiver products against industrial standard for electrical and optical performance.

The ideal candidate should exhibit behavioral traits that indicate:

  • Verbal and written skills to work with a multi-disciplinary team
  • Problem solving skills


You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through relevant training and/or research experience.

Minimum Qualification:

We are looking for PhD candidates in Electrical Engineering, Optics, or Physics.

6+ months knowledge in:

  • High speed optical communication system
  • Schematics capture and PCB layout
  • Programming languages such as Python, C#, and/or Matlab
  • High speed test equipment, such as Keysight DCA or equivalent is a plus
