Software Security Architect - Connected Home

Job Description
Software Architects within Intel's Connected Home Division (CHD) are designing system software solutions for connecting the growing number of devices within the home with the cloud. In this position, your focus will be the security aspects of these solutions with an emphasis on Linux based platform software.


Qualifications

You must have demonstrated capabilities in following areas

- Experience developing embedded networking systems based on Linux operating system
- A deep understanding and experience with the security features and capabilities in the Linux kernel with up to date knowledge of these features and capabilities
- Experience architecting and developing system software using these features and capabilities
- Solid understanding of modern cryptographic algorithms and secure communication protocols
- Clarifying, defining, and documenting system security requirements through collaboration with marketing teams and customers
- Familiar with and practice of Security Development Lifecycle (SDL) for threat modeling, security objective definition, security architecture design/specification, both at full system level and component/subsystem level
- Interact with technologists/architects in order to make proper trade-off of functional and usability requirements with security requirements, evaluate feasibility, and determine priorities for development
- Experience in the Linux community related to its security features and capabilities is a plus.

Qualifications
- BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline
- Strong communication and influencing skills are essential, including the ability to work across multiple geographical locations
- 7+ years of experience in embedded networking system with focus on security aspects
- 5+ years of hands on experience in Linux Kernel, Linux kernel networking and open source, Linux security aspects
- 4+ years of experience in system architecture/engineering role covering the following:
o Designing embedded networking software and/or system architectures
o Software engineering including requirements management and architecture definition
- 4+ years of experience in SDL process practice focusing on threat modeling, security objective definition, and mitigation through security architecture
- Experience with systems and software based on Intel IA and/or MIPS architecture
- Experience with broadband access and home gateway software and technologies is desired (e.g. DOCSIS, PON, DSL standards, OpenWRT, RDK-B, etc.)
