System validation Engineer

Job Description
Engineers on this team are responsible for commercializing WWAN devices on various carrier networks and technologies (LTE/UMTS/4G/5G etc.). The responsibility includes requirement analysis, design and development of Windows Radio Interface Layer for Intel modem designs, performing independent investigation and analysis of functional/performance related issue in wireless devices, driving complex system issue analysis and fixing them in co-operation with internal/3rd party SW/FW/HW teams, troubleshooting across a wide range of interdependent technology areas.

WWAN Sys Debug engineer ensures timely disposition of all incoming sightings, assessing firmware/software solution as well as HW/silicon fixes options. He/She must be able to perform detailed analysis of the incoming issues, provide qualitative and quantitative input, provide risk assessments and make recommendations to peers and SysDebug lead.

Sys Debug engineer would collaborate with various cross functional teams such as BIOS, WWAN driver development, Platform integration, Platform validation, PnP and HW design teams. He/She is expected to be crisp in communication and work with respective teams to effectively solve the issue in a short time span.


Qualifications

- Responsible for authoring, troubleshooting and closure of defects.
- Good understanding of wireless testing especially in LTE / WCDMA / GSM technology
- Experience in manual as well as automation testing.
- Direct handset/tablet testing experience is required.
- Experience in 3gpp call flows, data/log file analysis, call failure analysis to debug wireless protocol issues.
- Experience with embedded tools used for debugging modem, and data analysis to gauge the performance of tablet/phone products in controlled lab environment
- Must have experience with radio communication test equipment's: R&S CMW500, Agilent 8960/PXT, Anritsu and/or Spirent
- Must have the ability to execute detailed test procedures based on test specifications
- Must have the ability to write detailed test cases and test plans.
- Experience with running/modifying automation test scripts using Perl preferred.
- Must have ability to multi-task in a very dynamic environment.
- Knowledge of Device Driver Interaction on Windows Operating system.
- Knowledge of Mobile Broadband Interface Model
- Knowledge of HLK is an value add.
