As a Hardware Designer inside the Baseband & SoC Development group in iCDG Intel's Communication and Devices Group, you will work with our business development, system engineering, PHY FW, protocol stack, platform SW and HW teams.
These teams will be heavily focused on product definition, planning, drive development/execution, system verification pre-silicon, Si bring up, functional, product certification and customer engagement to commercialize Intel cellular products.
In this position you will contribute to the development of application specific processors for Intel's multimode cellular modems.
Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Designing custom instruction-set architectures/extensions for application specific processors.
Developing and customizing instruction-set simulators and micro-architecture specifications.
Designing high performance semi-custom data-paths
Designing instruction and/or data-caches Bus-interface units and other functional units for processors
Participate in design and test-plan reviews
Power and performance analysis
Assesses risks and identifies issues and solutions to timely and efficiently achieve program goals or project objectives while maintaining quality standards.
Coordinates and drive execution multiple cross functional teams in multiple sites/geos.
Monitors progress against schedule and determines and takes remedial action as appropriate in order to meet project milestones
Understands the technical concepts, architecture, systems, development methods, and disciplines associated with modem product development and applies in project planning and risk management.
Minimum of a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering and at least 8+ years' of industry experience with the following:
RTL & lower level design of multi-million gate ASICs in advance process nodes
Experience with RTL-to-GDS design flows IC Compiler, etc. for advance process nodes
Experience with industry standard toolsets in the areas of logic synthesis, timing closure, design for test techniques
Experience with power analysis using power artist and PTPX
Experience with front-end design and integration tasks including lint, CDC, synthesis, and ECO
Experience with embedded programming in assembly and C is required
Deep understanding of computer architecture
Familiarity with RISC-V ISA is a plus
Experience with modem designs is a strong plus
Thorough understanding of processor micro-architecture
Strong theoretical background in Digital Signal Processing
