Principle Security Engineer

Job Description

About the role:

Principle Security Engineers provide security assessment and penetration testing services to our valued customers to develop needed security architecture and recommendations. The Principle Security Engineer will manage projects and communication with stakeholders.

What you will do...

  • Conduct technical evaluation of systems, networks, applications, and infrastructures to determine the security posture of the target capability.
  • Conduct assessments as directed ranging from discovery scanning and information gathering, vulnerability assessments, blue/red team assessment or as defined.
  • Deliver security test plans, assessment results, and recommendations for approval.
  • Provide expert technical support for potential targets both before and after the assessment to assist in the improvement of security-related capabilities.
  • Lead security assessments of new and existing systems of commercial service providers.
  • Conduct research for the design and development of new security architectures.
  • Test tactics, techniques, and procedures TTP for the protection of information.
  • Develop and incorporate security-based requirements.
  • Team with thought leaders on cutting edge strategies to protect commercial service providers from advanced persistent threats APT.Support multiple national-level cyber security initiatives with significant visibility.
  • Conduct advanced research of cyber incidents and development of incident response and remediation recommendations.
  • This position will be located at Arlington, VA. 10% travel or sometimes extended and occasional weekend work may be required

Education, qualifications and skills required:

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position.  Qualifications listed as preferred or additional will be considered a plus factor for applicants.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have an active TS/SCI security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems is preferred but not required.
  • Network certifications, such as CCNA, CCNE and CCIE are preferred but not required.

Additional Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of advanced cyber security experience inclusive to networking, TCP/IP, DNS, email protocols, conducting red/blue team assessments, scanning tools, and writing comprehensive reports.
  • In-depth knowledge of sophisticated threats and understanding of complex, cross-domain, systems architectures.
  • Experience in the design and development to reference security architectures and implementations of security systems.
  • Experience within security assessment task teams performing highly technical and advanced testing and evaluation to discover and demonstrate vulnerabilities in information systems.
  • Superior interpersonal, communication, presentation, and writing skills.
