Job Description The Windows OS team is a highly technical team of engineers and architects that enables and optimizes Intel products on Microsoft Windows OS. We are searching for energetic and passionate lab lead technician with a focus on Power and Performance work & support. In this position, you will have the wonderful opportunity to shape the future! You will help enable the team to achieve maximum performance with minimal power usage on systems using Windows OS from tablets to high-end desktops. You will be working closely with PnP engineers and other technicians to ensure high quality data is provided for analysis on qualified platforms. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to: * Order platforms and HW equipment for WOS PnP lab work * Ensure platforms are re-worked to the latest guidance from the relevant Business unit * Ensure platforms are setup with the latest BKC and OS * Lead & coordinate with a group of 5-7 lab technicians & engineers to ensure PnP data collection timeliness and quality * Provide quality data through reliable hardware setup/support allowing Engineering teams to influence/drive architecture and product intercept on Intel Windows systems* Inventory tracking, lab storage, safety, audit compliance, lab space allocation & reconfiguration* Provide management & stakeholders regular reports on work in progress, issues, and solutions* Network connectivity & troubleshooting wired/wireless * Access point setup & deployment WPA/Encryption/SSID/NAT* Ramp & supply test execution support within the lab when needed
Candidate should possess an AS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or other relevant degree. 1-3 years' experience in a similar lab/engineering support role is also acceptableKnowledge & experience with Intel Client PC hardware, upgrades, firmware, connectivity, troubleshootingNational Instruments Debug Hardware ConnectivityRelevant PnP power and/or performance internships, projects, classes, prior lab PnP experience Excellent verbal & written technical communication skills
