Platform Architect - Server System HW Acceleration
Job Description Intel's Data Center Group Innovation, Pathfinding and Architecture team is seeking a server system/platform architect with expertise in the fields of accelerator architecture and system design. The successful candidate will be focusing on pathfinding future acceleration requirements for Intel's server platforms and optimizing and/or re-architecting platform and rack level solutions to best meet evolving and emerging needs in platforms and WL hardware acceleration examples: media transcoding, encryption, compression, GPU, FPGA & machine learning/artificial intelligence accelerators. Pathfinding areas the candidate will engage in will include server platform architectural definition and accelerator interface requirements, rack level pooled solutions and platform, accelerator and network architecture and requirements. The platform architect will also own interface and architectural input from the platform to the accelerator/silicon groups around Intel. The ideal candidate is passionate about technology, has a broad, system-level understanding of server architecture and data center design. Knowledge in WL hardware acceleration for such areas as for example media transcoding, encryption, compression, GPUs, FPGAs & machine learning/artificial intelligence accelerators or deep learning appliances is desired.
Bachelor degree with 10 years of experience or Master's degree with 6 years of experience, in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering. Server system architecture expertise, multi-processor architecture, memory subsystem architecture, IO architecture including PCIe, storage at platform and rack level, system RAS, board partitioning and layout, networking, and rack level manageability. Experience in driving concepts and anticipating needs. Ability to create architectural recommendations and specifications and lead system and architecture changes in designs. Have a good understanding and ability to work with the industry to capture server customer and market needs/drivers.
